You will need to download Filezilla which is free here http://filezilla-project.org/download.php Assumming you've already got a hosting account and set up your FTP user/pass and have installed Filezilla (If not please ask your host provider).

 

  1. Assumming you've already got a hosting account and set up your FTP user/pass and have installed Filezilla (If not please ask your host provider).
    Click on Open Site Manager just under File.

  2. Click on New Site (1), enter the name of the New Folder (2), enter your Host (3, usually just ftp.yourURL.com), make sure Logontype is on Normal (4), enter your FTP username and password (5) and click Connect.

  3. If all details have been entered in correctly you should see Directory listing Successful (1).
    (2) Is the folders in your computer.
    (3) Is the folders and files on your computer.
    (4) Is your server's Folders
    (5) Is your server's folders and files.

    Usually you server (5) will have a public_html folder which is where your website's files are, if their is no public_html folder then you will already be in your root directory (where your website's files are). All you need to do now is either double click or drag and drop from either the server or your computer to transfer files.
